About Project

Hey, I’m Avery Dunn, and Beauty Tips Online is my little workshop for making characters look good. I don’t raid for parses anymore — I log in, open the collection tab, and lose track of time mixing robes, shoulders and weapon glows until a priest actually looks dangerous or a warrior finally looks elegant.

Why “Beauty” in the name?

People ask me that a lot. The domain started years ago as a regular beauty blog, and when I turned it into my WoW notebook I kept the name on purpose. Transmog is beauty work — matching undertones like you would match foundation, hunting the right “shade” of silver across three expansions, throwing out a helm because it ruins the whole silhouette. So the name stayed. It fits better than I expected.

How I put a set together

My process is pretty hands-on and a bit stubborn. I pick one piece I love — say, a hood with a cold blue glow — and build everything around it on a bank alt. Then I take that character out into daylight in the current capital hub, queue a dungeon, sit on a mount, check the back view while running. Screenshots in the dressing room lie all the time: a belt floats, a tabard clips through boots, an old low-resolution texture turns to soup next to a modern high-definition chest. If it doesn’t survive an actual evening of play, it doesn’t make it onto the site.

For farming I run small loops instead of crossing the whole map. If two old raids sit near each other, they go in one evening route with hearthstone timing noted, so a full clear takes under an hour and you still make your guild run.

What I check before publishing

What I checkHow I check itWhy it matters
Texture matchEquip on a live character, daylight plus a real dungeonOld blurry pieces clash with sharp modern ones
Exact tintRe-run every difficulty, write down which one drops itSame model hides behind different tints
Route timeGroup nearby instances, note the hearthstone pointWeekly clear stays under an hour

What lives on this site

  • Finished looks I wear myself — full item lists, where each piece dropped and which difficulty gives the exact tint.
  • Hard-to-find bits — boots, belts and off-hands that complete an otherwise perfect set, plus recolors most databases lump together.
  • Illusion and glow pairing — which enchant effects sit calmly on a pale set and which ones overpower it.
  • Honest notes on what didn’t work — combinations I deleted because they clipped, clashed, or only looked good in preview.

A quick note on patches

Drop sources shift quietly. A vendor moves, a boss gets an extra tint, an old quest reward comes back through a seasonal event. Whenever I catch a change on my own runs or get your email, I reopen the guide and fix it rather than leaving a dead route up. If you farmed something by my notes and it didn’t match, tell me — I would rather re-run it than have you waste a lockout.

Thanks for reading. If you have a look you are proud of, send it to info@beautytipsonline.com — I answer every note myself.
